Friendly Expertise You Can Rely On
What Can We Do For You?
Eye Mapping
Exclusive to Bay of Plenty, i.Profiler maps the front surface of the eye checking for possible distortions and irregularities. Eye Mapping eliminates glare and dazzle by allowing us to make customized lenses giving you the clearest possible vision – regardless of the lighting conditions.
Glasses and Frames
From reading to driving glasses and everything in between – we have it covered. Like most things, making sure you have the right tool for the right job is half the battle. So, while we can’t guarantee you’ll win the golf tournament, we can make sure that you’ll see where the ball is.
Facial Mapping
Facial mapping ensures a perfect fit of your spectacle frames thus delivering a superior lens performance. Mobile i.Terminal scans and analyses contours of your face and the frame fit to precisely calculate the lens parameters.
About Us
Fischer Eyecare in Papamoa Beach - experts in everything optical.
I have been helping people to see the everyday beauty and to be their most brilliant selves for over 38 years. Call to make an appointment to see me and let’s talk about lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses and the rugby….
Karl Fischer
Karl is a refractologist, director and the driving force behind Fischer Eyecare.
I trained initially as a dispensing optician in my native country of South Africa, followed by BSc(Hons) Optometry from University of Bradford UK only to practice in sunny New Zealand.
I have worked for big corporations and come to realize the only way that I can deliver an all round quality eye care and outstanding eyewear is to open my own practice and listen to my patients instead of an overseas boss.
A careful listener and gifted clinician – I will always recommend the best solutions and provide a precise explanation of the ins and outs.
My passions are finding the right outcomes for my customers, motorbikes and lost souls.
Fischer Eyecare in Papamoa Beach
Fischer Eyecare in Papamoa Beach is an independent optical practice specializing in personalized eye care and contemporary eyewear.
Ultimately, my work is about helping you to see the beauty of the world – clearer and sharper and helping you to become the finest version of yourself – unlimited and unhindered because having super-sight is not just for superheroes!
Thanks to exclusive equipment I can provide the most comprehensive eye lenses in Papamoa Beach, Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty.
As no two people are the same. I believe that glasses need to be personalised for each wearer – starting with the frame fit, through individual prescription lenses to specific solutions for night driving or sports. And if you’d rather wear contact lenses – I can help you there too. I’m always happy to chat about (in no particular order) how to approach wedding outfit and prescription glasses, pros and cons of hobby glasses, coffee, motorbikes, babies, photography, or simply setting the world to rights.
What Else Can We Do For You?
We believe in using the right tools for the right job.
Does the glare of night driving annoy you or badly fitting glasses drive you crazy? Does having to take glasses on and off irritate you beyond belief?
We have tips and tools to help you see the world – clearer, crispier and ultimately happier.
We have decided to use the best equipment and the best product there is – simply because they give the best results.
We have also worked long and hard to gain experience and the know-how.
And that’s so you don’t have to.
So, if you choose glasses, prescription sunglasses, or contact lenses, or nothing at all it will be because we recommend what’s best for you.
Choosing the right lenses.
At Fischer Eyecare I believe that while the frames are an important part of any glasses, the lenses are a make-or-break of a successful wearer.
If lights at night appear dazzling and starred despite a good quality, anti-reflective coating on your current glasses, personalised lenses may be the answer.
If you have to wear progressive lenses or work in a situation where you change focus from distance to near to intermediate – rapidly and seamlessly, choosing correct lenses is paramount.
If you don’t know where to start, let me help! Get in touch, make an appointment to see me today.
Bring your own prescription.
Bring your own spectacle prescriptions. This is freely available from your Optometrist. Call or email them requesting a copy of your latest prescription.
If you can’t get it, or don’t want to get it, that’s OK, I have equipment to read it off from your current specs.
